Club members from across the country once again gathered at Wetherby Racecourse for the Dransfields CIU Charity Raceday event.
As a leading UK supplier of club and pub fruit machines, pool tables and jukeboxes, and the CIU’s preferred supplier of gaming machines, Dransfields is proud to sponsor this event, which as always, was a huge success. Our Operations Director, Trevor Roberts, was among those who attended.
As well as the chance to watch some top quality horse racing, members enjoyed the traditional pie and peas on offer in the dedicated CIU marquee.
For every union member attendee, Wetherby Racecourse and its catering firm CGC Events each donated £1 for the CIU Education Programme, raising a fantastic total of £2,100. The money will be used to help club members improve their skills and knowledge by providing courses on subjects like club management, employment law, and club banking.
Wetherby Chief Executive Jonjo Sanderson presented a cheque for the final amount to Union President George Dawson CMD, Union General Secretary Kenneth D Green CMD, and Vice-President John Tobin.
Mr Dawson said: “Many thanks to all of the Union members who supported this Union event at Wetherby Racecourse. We also thank Dransfields for their continued support of the event as title sponsors of this raceday.”
