Club Awards celebrate the best of the best

6 January 2016

In November 2015, officials from over 600 clubs gathered in Manchester for an annual awards event to recognise and celebrate successes across the club industry.

Run by Club Mirror magazine and now in their 24th year, the Club Mirror Awards provide an opportunity to showcase the achievements of clubs from around the UK and demonstrate their commitment to their communities.

Dransfields were delighted to be involved with the Club Awards once again and to sponsor two awards – Charity Club of the Year and Entertainment Club of the Year.

This year’s event saw representatives from every corner of clubland - from sports and social clubs to working men’s clubs and company clubs - getting together for an award-filled evening at The Palace Hotel which was hosted by sports broadcaster John Inverdale.

Clubs were fighting it out in 29 hotly-contested categories and the high quality of entries left the judges with some tough decisions to make.

It was an honour to present the Charity Club of the Year award to the worthy winners, Grangemoor WMC in Burntwood, Staffordshire, who raised £6,000 for Help for Heroes in 2015. The club has recently undergone a £35,000 refurbishment and welcomed 160 new members last year, which they hope will lead to even more funds being raised for charity in the future.

During 2015, clubs from across the country pledged their time and money to help those in need, raising funds for good causes both large and small.

Between them, this year’s award finalists and winners raised over £1 million for charity between January and October alone.

We also sponsored the Entertainment Club of the Year award; Coxlodge and Gosforth District Social Club won the award for the North, while Phoenix Artist Club took home the honours for the South.

We would like to extend our heartiest congratulations to all who took part in the awards.
